Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What’s your wedding photography style?
My wedding photography style blends both documentary and editorial approaches. I have a background in photojournalism, and I’d say that on average, 80% of a gallery will take that sort of documentary approach, while 20% will be group photos and posed couples portraits with some editorial flair. I find that this mix works well for most couples, as most people have never had professional photos taken and find a bit of direction helpful.
That said, I’m always happy to take an even more journalistic approach and capture almost entirely candids, if that’s your jam. Likewise, if you want to lean into more conceptual, planned editorial portraits, I’m all ears.
How long have you been photographing weddings?
I’ve been photographing weddings since 2020. I am also a food, travel, and portrait photographer, which I did for many years prior to that.
How do you deliver wedding photos? Will I be able to use the photos however I want?
I deliver a downloadable high-resolution gallery of images through an online service called Pixieset. You (and anyone else you give the link to) will have access to the gallery for 6 months following delivery, during which time you may back the gallery up to hard drives, download it to your computer, print the photos, make photo books, share the images on social media, and so on and so forth. You can do anything with your images besides sell them, alter them, or submit them for commercial or editorial use.
Will you remove blemishes, exit signs, and other things like that? Is that an extra charge?
Every image you receive in your final gallery is carefully edited. First the images are selected, then adjusted to the correct exposure and color balance, cropped, and straightened. My priority to create a thorough, cohesive, and beautiful documentation of your day. Therefore, it’s my goal to edit out anything that distracts from the final product.
If I notice a patch of dead grass in front of your first kiss photo, I’ll likely edit it out. If there’s a glaring, red exit sign above your first dance photos, I’ll edit that out too. I try to catch blemishes and stray hairs, but if I miss details like this I am always happy to edit them out upon request. Extensive requests may incur additional charges and are handled on a case-by-case basis.
